Lancashire Waste Services Ltd ("LWS", "we", "us") is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are registered in England, company number 05879486, at Washington Lane, Euxton, Chorley, Lancashire PR7 6DE.

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us, become a customer, or use this website, and how we look after it.

2. Information we collect

• Enquiry details — your name, company name, phone number, email address, the type of enquiry, vehicle type and any message you send us.
• Customer and job records — vehicle and fleet details, registration numbers, service history, inspection reports, hire agreements and site addresses.
• Billing information — purchase order references, invoicing contacts and payment records.
• Website data — basic technical information such as device type, browser and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics.

We do not knowingly collect special category data, and we do not collect information from children.

3. How and why we use it

• To respond to enquiries and provide quotations.
• To carry out maintenance, repair, inspection, contract servicing and hire work, and to keep the records required for those services.
• To supply compliance documentation and service history to support your operator licence obligations.
• To invoice you and manage payments.
• To contact you about bookings, planned maintenance visits and vehicle availability.
• To improve this website and understand how it is used.

We will only send marketing communications where you have asked to receive them or where we have a legitimate interest to contact an existing business customer, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Our lawful basis

We rely on contract where information is needed to deliver the services you have asked for; legitimate interests for running and improving our business, responding to enquiries and keeping job records; legal obligation for tax, accounting, safety and inspection record-keeping; and consent for optional analytics cookies and marketing where required.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with:

• Parts suppliers and subcontract specialists engaged to complete your work.
• Our accountants, auditors, insurers and professional advisers.
• IT, hosting, email and website providers who support our systems.

Where a provider processes data on our behalf, they are bound to use it only for the purposes we specify.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for [12] months. Customer, job and inspection records are kept for at least [6] years to meet accounting and compliance requirements, and longer where vehicle maintenance history needs to be retained. After that, records are securely deleted or destroyed.
